Schindler's range of escalators and moving walkways can earn you the BREEAM credit available for escalators that save energy during periods of no passenger demand.

Below explains how the BREEAM credit is fulfilled:

Each escalator and/or horizontal travelling walkway must comply with either of the following:

a. Is fitted with a load sensing device that synchronises motor output to passenger demand through a variable speed drive.

b. Is fitted with a passenger sensing device for automated operation, so the escalator operates in stand-by mode when there is no passenger demand.

Schindler 9300, 9500 and 9700 ranges of escalators and moving walks are all available with either of the above required features. They are capable of adjusting operation in accordance with passenger demand, therefore complying with the credit's demands.
